Mrs. Abigail Galivan Hale, 75, of 121 Main Street, died at 8:30 this morning, July 16, 1956 in Massena Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Thursday. She had been in failing health several weeks.
Mrs. Hale was born in Moira August 20, 1880, the daughter of Patrick and Mary Maroney Galivan. She was educated there and on June 28, 1906 she and Sumner Hale were married in St. Mary's Church, Brushton, by the Rev. Brice. She had resided in Massena for 26 years.
Mr. Hale, who died October 27, 1950 was employed by the Rutland Railroad and the New York Central Railroad for some time and later was a station agent a Norwood for the Norwood and St. Lawrence Railroad before his retirement. They also resided in Waddington while Mr. Hale was in the employ of the Rutland Railroad.
Mrs. Hale was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the League of the Sacred Heart.
Surviving are one son, James, Newburg, NY and one daughter, Miss Marion Hale, at home, a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
