Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon in the Venice ward chapel for Lorenzo Dow Buchanan, 75, a resident of Venice for 40 years who died at his home in Venice on December 30.

Mr. Buchanan was born at Manti on April 16, 1864, a son of Archibald and Amelia Whiting Buchanan. He moved with his parents to Glenwood when he was eight years of age. He married Mary Larsen of Manti on February 24, 1892 in the Manti L. D. S. temple.

Surviving besides his widow are one daughter, Mrs. Josephine Jorgenson of Salt Lake; four sons, Boyd, Elwood, Lavere and June Buchanan of Venice; 19 grandchildren; one great grandchild; 8 sisters; Mrs. Theda of Lyman, Mrs. Edna Beecroft of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Amy Ence of Richfield, Mrs. Tina Young of Logan, Mrs. Lyle Poole of Annabella, Mrs. Ethel B. Breinholt, and Mrs. Myrl Brugger of Venice and Mrs. Mary Black of Los Angeles; four brothers, A. W. Buchanan of Venice, Henry P. Buchanan of Richfield, Carl Buchanan of Blackfoot, Idaho and Earl Buchanan of Tremonton and a brother by adoption, Jacob Smith of Tremonton
