Sarah Curnutt was born Sarah Bastron on July 12, 1916, at Delta, Colorado. She lived most of her life in the Smolan and Salina, Kansas area. She died May 1, 1996, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Curnutt was a housekeeper and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Bachofer in 1969, and Leo Curnutt in 1976; two sons, Raymond Jacob Bachofer Jr. in 1994 and Richard Bachofer in 1964; and two grandsons.
Survivors included three daughters, Melva Bachofer Meier, Janette Bachofer Jury and Susan Curnutt Unruh; two brothers, Leo Bastron and Alvin Bastron; two sisters, Louise Smith and Eldorda Bridean; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
