Maiden name of Jemima is unknown, as well as her place of birth although there are several speculations on both. She was included in the Administration of her husband's estate, James Barron, in Cherokee County, GA. 1850-1852 prior to boundary lines placing his burial in Pickens County. This land, where James and Jemima are buried, was part of their land at one time. 320 acres were sold by the Administrator of the Estate, their son, Isaac Barron, in Nov 1850. The land was bought by Cornelius Keith, of Lumpkin Co.,GA. in Canton, GA. 80 ac. of this land was eventually sold to W.J. Murphy, passing down through the Murphy descendants.

Suggestion noted 9 Aug 2021 from 47631121: Spelling of Jemima to Gemima [on marker]-most documents spelled her name with a "J" and I have included both spellings. The grave markers were ordered in 1966 by James M. Puckett, SAR, Atlanta, GA,Chairman of Graves as [designee].

"I am following this in honor of my Great Great Great Great-Grandmother and will be adding more information and links along the way - being able to go back in time like this is a large step for all - I hope information here will be able to help those who are in search of their heritage. I know it has been a great help to me... I have built some sites along the way and have gained control of others so that i could tell the stories of those who have passed, as I plan to do here linking them all together along the way"...
