The Chico Enterprise (Chico, California) 10 Oct 1923, Wednesday Page 5: Miss Ruby Dutro Becomes Bride. Miss Ruby Dutro, accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joaquin Dutro of Eleventh avenue, and Manuel Azevedo were united in marriage at a nuptial mass in the Catholic church at 9 o’clock this morning, Rev. M.J. O’Connell officiating.

Miss Dutro is popular in the younger circles of Chico and was a prominent member of the Catholic church choir. The groom is a rancher in the Chico Vecino district.

The services were attended by a large number of friends of the principals. Miss Alta Dutro, sister of the bride acted as bridesmaid and Fillmore Lopez, her brother, was best man.

At 3 o’clock this afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Azevedo left by train for the bay district where they will spend their honeymoon.

Mrs. Azevedo was born July 4, 1904, in Chico to Joaquin and Mary Dutro, who were both natives of the Azores Islands.

She was a graduate of Chico schools, and on October 10, 1923, she married Manuel Azevedo. He died in 1984.

She was a member of the Chico Portuguese Holy Ghost Society, IDES, UPEC, UPPEC, SPRSI, American Legion Auxiliary, Luso American Society, and Our Divine Savior Catholic Church …
