William D. Farran, 74, of Olney, Rt. 4, passed away this morning at the Richland Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.

A lifelong resident of the county, William Farran was born in Bonpas Twp. the son of David Farran and Susan Bartlett Farran.

He was an employee of the Olney Branch of the International Shoe Company for many years and had engaged in Farming.

He was married to Ella Runyon on August of 1918.

Mr. Farran was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and Richland Barracks of World War I vet.

He leaves his wife, Ella, a daughter Mrs. Lonnie (Inez) Todd of Olney, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His mother, Mrs. Susie Farran of Olney also survives.

He was preceded in death by his father, a sister Mrs. Liza Myers and a brother Eddie Farran.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers-Rainey Funeral home with Bro. Richard Mason officiating.

Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Olney veteran organization.
