Mehitable was the youngest child of Jemima Bradbury and Capt. William Chandler. She married Col. Ebenezer Crafts on December 9, 1762. They had 5 children: Mary (who lived only 1 1/2 months), Mary Lucretia (who only lived 3 1/2 years), Samuel Chandler, Lucretia Matilda and Augusta.

They first lived in Sturbridge, MA, then moved to Craftsbury, VT (founded by her husband). See her husband's memorial for more details of their lives.

Mehitable's husband predeceased her a year and 1/2 earlier than she.
