She is survived her husband, Charles Edward Akins; daughters, Debbie King, and Regina Scott and husband Danny; son, Floyd Scott, Jr. and wife Robbie; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Carl McCarty and Ervin McCarty Jr.; and two sons-in-law Gene King and Eddie Blower.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin McCarty; mother, Thelma McCarty; and sisters, Robbie McCarty and Irene Giles.

The Rev. Charles Rowden officiated and burial was in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.
