Pekin, IL - A. Lucille Rutledge, 90, of Pekin died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Timbercreek Rehab and Health Care.

She was born April 7, 1918 in Manito, IL, the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Stewart) Long, she married Fred Rutledge on January 15, 1938 in Pekin. He died May 21, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers; and four sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Joan Swearingen; one grandson, Dale (Billie) Swearingen; two great-grandchildren, Heidi (Waylon) Palmer and Eric Swearingen; and two great-great-grandsons, Tony Palmer and Jaxon Palmer.

A homemaker, Lucille was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Pekin.

She enjoyed traveling, camping, and writing poetry.

Private burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Forest City.
