Judge Lewis Solomon Jr. son of Lewis Sr. & Sarah (Bowden) Solomon, husband to Nancy Ann Fink Solomon. Lewis and Nancy had 12 children. Lewis volunteered in the Black Hawk War 1832, 3rd Regt. Whiteside Brig. He was elected Constable in 1839 in IL, in 1840 he was elected Assessor in Macoupin Co., in 1843 elected Justice of the Peace in Macoupin Co., in 1852 he was elected to the IL Legislature, 1857-1861 he was elected Judge, in 1861 he was elected to the Constitutional Convention IL, in 1870 he was elected to the State Senate, married 2nd wife Mary Ann (Baker) Butcher in 1866.
