She spent much of her teen and young adult life in ministry bringing joy by singing in hospitals and rest homes. She played violin in the Central Church of God orchestra for many years before moving to Davidson. She was a most loving wife and mother. She home schooled her children Daniel and Natalie who both graduated from College with high honors for which she said were her proudest moments. She was a lover of animals, an accomplished equestrian and owner of the Village Tack Shop in Davidson where nearly every customer became her best friend. She dressed hundreds of little girls to show their first pony which she knew by name. She would go to horse shows just to see and hug 'Her Kids' and you would hear 'Miss Von-eee-da' all day long.
Though her life was short, she filled our days with gracious love and adventure and left her husband and children with cherished memories.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Davidson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Moses of Lake Forest Community Church and retired Rev. Bob Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 -2 prior to service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Cemetery.
As a special tribute to Voneda's life, we ask that her equestrian friends attend her memorial service wearing formal riding attire.
Raymer Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
