THE PARIS NEWS, March 27, 1939, Pg. 8: "Death of W. M. Woodridge of 196 West Brame Street occurred about 9:30 o'clock monday morning at his home where he had been in ill health some time. He was 60 years old. Survivors include his wife and three children, Mrs. Eldon (Ruthie) Preas of Paris; Lorin Wooldridge, living near Houston and Mrs. Ruby Boone in Mississippi, besides other relatives. Funeral arrangements were incomplete Monday morning, pending arrival of relatives. Manton-Fry Funeral Home has charge." Transcribed by Debra Usry.

Information from Rayburn Hill, [email protected], 2 Apr 2010: William Moody (Will) Wooldridge was born July 10, 1878, in Lamar County, Texas. He was a son of Miles Lorin Wooldridge and Martha O. Campbell Wooldridge. His grandparents were Edmund (Edmond) Wooldridge, Malinda Gore Wooldridge, David S. Campbell and Francis Pope Campbell. His Wooldridge grandparents migrated from Illinois to Lamar County by 1841. His Wooldridge family has been proven to John Wooldridge born in 1678 in Scotland. John migrated to Virginia circa 1700. Will descended from John Wooldridge, William Woolridge, Richard Wooldridge, William Wooldridge, Edmund Wooldridge and Miles Lorin Wooldridge. For more information on the Wooldridge family, see "Wooldridges in Lamar County," Lamar County Genealogy and History, Volume 25, 2007. His siblings were Ella (Ellen) Wooldridge, Edward Sylvester Wooldridge, Miller W. Wooldridge, Mattie Wooldridge and Walter S. Wooldridge. He married Nancy Alice Wooldridge, daughter of James M. (Jim) Wooldridge and Mary Louise Dennis Wooldridge, March 24, 1901, in Paris, Lamar County, Texas. Will and Nancy were great-great-grandchildren of Richard Wooldridge and Jane Roberts Wooldridge. Will's and Alice's children were Vessie Estelle Wooldridge, Miles Lorin Wooldridge, Ruthie Wooldridge and Ruby Pauline Wooldridge. Will was a rancher and a farmer in Lamar County. He died March 27, 1939, in Paris, Texas. Alice died March 25, 1969, in Paris. They were buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
