W.H. HOOKER, PIONEER IN DESOTO COUNTY, DIES;
ARCADIA, Dec. 6,. ---(Special)---William Henry Hooker, 72, resident of DeSoto county 60 years, died here today at home of his cousin Zeb Parker. He was an extensive cattle owner and citrus grower and served in the stat legislature as DeSoto County representative before the county was divided.
Funeral Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Van Petten Funeral Chapel Dr. J. J. Martin in charge. He is survived by his widow, two sisters, Mrs Lula Evans, Lakeland, and Mrs. Effie Hull, Plant City; three brothers, Cicero Hayman, Palmetto; Alderman Hayman, Tampa, and Hollis Hayman, Bradley; six sons, Stephens, Moore Haven; W.C. Clewiston; Z.V West Palm Beach; P.H. and Earl of Arcadia and L. L of Lakeport, and two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Drinkwater and Mrs. WJ. Bradley of West Palm Beach. Burial will be at Joshua Creek Cemetery.
