Virginia (Bowen) Bradley

Virginia (Bowen) Bradley, 94, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Morgantown Health Care Inn in Morgantown. She was a former resident of Lipscomb, Ala.

She is survived by a daughter, Janet Lee (Harold Leland) Patterson of Greenwood; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnie Hirman and Janie (Guyton) Bowen; two husbands, Milton R. Patterson and Resin Reno "Brad" Bradley; and five brothers, Johnie Martin, Allen Powers, Walker Guyton "W.G.," Robert Hiram and Albert Lee Bowen.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Bessemer-Brown Funeral Home in Bessemer, Ala. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Memorial Gardens, Bessemer. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Virginia (Bowen) Bradley 94, passed away January 2, 2009, at Morgantown Health Care-Inn in Morgantown. She was a former resident of Lipscomb, Alabama.

She was born on February 4, 1914, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Johnie Hirman and Janie (Guyton) Bowen.

She attended Bessemer High School in Bessemer, Alabama, and was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was a employee of Allred's Cloth Barn in Lipscomb, Alabama, where she worked for more than 50 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Lee (Harold Leland) Patterson of Greenwood; grandson, Michael Leland (Diane) Ray of Hudson, Florida; granddaughter, Lesa Ray Fritz of Greenwood; three great-grandchildren, Cory Michael Mascari, Allyson Leigh Ray and Aaron Michael Ray.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Milton R. Patterson and Resin Reno "Brad" Bradley; five brothers, Johnie Martin, Allen Powers, Walker Guyton "W.G.", Robert Hiram and Albert Lee Bowen.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, at Bessemer-Brown Funeral Home in Bessemer, Alabama, with burial at Highland Memorial Gardens.
