Funeral Services and Birth at the Same Hour:
Mrs Hettie Grantz, aged 79 years, died at the home of her son Levi Grantz in Gilpin township, on July 30, 1908. Funeral services were conducted at the residence on Saturday, August 1 and interment made in Bethel Cemetery.
During the service and while more than one hundred persons crowded the lower rooms, Mrs Levi Grantz gave birth to a daughter in an upper room of the house. More than fifty people who were at the funeral returned and visited the little stranger. The mother and baby were tenderly cared for and are at present doing well.
