JAMES "JIMMY" FORNENGO

ST. GEORGE, Utah—Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Fornengo were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 1994 at the LDS Church, 2055 Edgar St., Rock Springs. Bishop Allen Knight conducted the services. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Fornengo, 67, of 1160 East Telegraph Road, No. 191, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah, where he had been a patient since Aug. 18, 1994. Fornengo died following an illness of several months.

Fornengo was born June 16, 1927 in Rock Springs, the son of the late James and Mary Theresa Vigna Fornengo Sr. He attended schools in Rock Springs and graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1944. He married the former Barbara Rollins in Reno, Nev. Nov. 14, 1948.

Fornengo was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was also a retired mine superintendent for FMC Corporation who worked there for 22 years. He retired in 1987.

Fornengo was a member of the V.F.W., the Italian Society and the Holiday Rambler R.V. Club.

He was also a member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Washington, Utah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and JoAnn Fornengo of Rock Springs and Michael and Julie Fornengo of Green River; one daughter and son-in-law, Don and Kathy Dernovich of Culbertson, Neb. and one sister, Mary Welsh of Rock Springs; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one niece, Beverley Graham and two nephews, Bishop Larry Welsh and Ron Welsh.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, ohn Fornengo and two who died in infancy, and one sister, Minnie Fornengo.
