Francis McArdle age 38 years. Enlisted on March 12, 1862, at New York City, to serve three years. Mustered in as private, Company F, 63rd N.Y. Inf., on April 3, 1862. Wounded in action, slightly, leg, on September 17, 1862. He died of his wounds on October 9, 1862, in hospital, Frederick, Md. His name appears in a Roll of Honor for Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Md., as Francis McAvel, Area M, western side of the cemetery, with the note “Disinterred and removed.” Francis McArdle is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Long Island, New York, in Section 1W Range or Avenue 15 Plot T Grave Number 17/19.
