KENNEDY, Ala. - Connie Cooper Foster, 88, died March 24, 2011, at Fayette Medical Center in Fayette, Ala. Services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home with Ralph Smith and Dale Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow Branch in Kennedy. Visitation is Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home. Ms. Foster was born Oct. 4, 1922, to the late Doc and Dessie Cooper Rushing. She worked for Westinghouse and was a member of Belk Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Foster; sister, Janea Cooper; brother, John Thomas; and two infant siblings. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Weathers and Geneva Anderson, both of Kennedy, and Virginia Henderson of Athens, Texas.--Published in Commercial Dispatch on March 25, 2011
