Sam Battaglia, 66 year old Brookhaven Merchant died December 22 at Touro Shakespere Home in New Orleans where he had been a patient for some time.. Mr. Battaglia, a native of Italy, had resided in this city for over 40 years and had been engaged in the grocery business for that length of time.
Funeral services were conducted December 23 at 2 p.m. from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Charles Seater officiating. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery here with Hartman's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Surviving Mr. Battaglia are a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Gregoire of New Orleans; three sons, John, Nicole, and Vincent, all of New Orleans; a brother Vincent, and six sisters, all residents of Italy. He leaves six grandchildren.
