Sanford September 24 Mr J C Vandergrift who recently moved here from Lynchburg VA died at the Central Carolina Hospital Saturday morning 11 o'clock from Brights Disease. Mr Vandergrift was 47 years old and leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral services were held Sunday morning 11 o; clock at the Methodist Church. Rev J H Frizzelle conducting the services. The interment was at Buffalo Cemetery.
John was a member of the Free Masons. He took his First Degree Oath March 13 1899. He was a member of the Person County Lodge in North Carolina
