Clarence was the oldest child of Alfred and Emily Jane (Broad) Moyle. Born at Tamarack Location, a mine near the bustling town of Calumet, Clarence resided in Houghton County until at least 1920; he moved to Detroit by 1930. Later, he settled in California. Among other occupations, Clarence worked as a foreman in a coal yard. He also served in the United States Army.
On March 11, 1918, Clarence married Mildred Charlotte Martin in Hancock. The couple had at least two children, June Irene and Martin. Sadly, June died suddenly a little more than a year into life.
At the time of his death at age 92, Clarence was survived by his son Martin, brother Alvin, and sister Isabell. In addition to his parents and daughter, Clarence's wife Mildred and his sisters Melva and Ethel Jane preceded him in death.
