Born March 1, 1901 in Central, Sevier County, Utah to Joseph and Jedadine Christensen Nielsen.
She married Herman Hermansen on December 10, 1920 in Richfield, Utah. He preceded her death on December 10, 1970.
After she finished her education in Cental Utah, her family moved to Elsinore, Utah, where she has since resided. She has been a visiting teacher and taught the Social Relations and Homemaking lessons in Relief Society and was active in Temple work. She was Sevier County ''Mother of the Year in 1972''. Chaplain for the American Legion Auxiliary, president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a member of the Elsinore Literary Club.
Surviving one daughter, Mrs. James (Carol) Russell, Simi Valley, California; three sons, Clark, St. George; Lowell, Richfield; Wayne, Cedar City; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. George (Edna) Hardy, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by son, David, nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Elsinore 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary in Richfield and at the Ward Chapel in Elsinore from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Burial: Elsinore Cemetery.
