Information taken from Rev/War Vol 1 - Marcia & Nelson Hart book: Herman (Harmon) Munson born 28 Oct 1738 in Wallingford, New Haven, Connecticut. Died 12 Feb 1829 at Medina, medina Co. Ohio. Wife = Anne Bronson who died Aug 4, 1825 aged 94 years. Heastone reads Harmon Munson, while wife's reads "Wife of Herman Munson". Military Service: Records indicate that early on he took his stand with the Loyalists and bore arms with the "red-coats". He received such harsh treatment that he deserted the Btitish and returned home. He was closely watched but the animosity subsided and he became a faithful adherent of the partriot cause. Subsequently enlisted 30 April 1777 in Captain David Smith's Co., under Colonel Chandler's 8th Conn Battalion for 3 years. Discharged April, 1780. In 1781 called upon to recruit members and was called "Captain."
