RENEE MAGSAMEN
Funeral services for Renee Magsamen were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Vase Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roy A. Miller of the First United Methodist Church officiated.
Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Rock Springs.
The pallbearers were Eldon Bangerter, Joe Rogers, Don Lund, Emil Bartolic, Frank Morgan and Ted Tynsky. Honorary pallbearers were the Sweetwater County garage employees.
Mrs. Magsamen, 64, of 1410 Collins St., Rock Springs, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at the L.D.S. Hospital in Salt Lake City where she had been a patient for the past eight and one-half weeks.
A resident of Rock Springs since 1954 and former resident of Superior, Mrs. Magsamen had been in ill health the past two years.
She was born in Eldon Lane, England on May 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Mary Lowe Hornsby. She attended schools in Winton, Reliance and Superior and was a graduate of the Superior High School with the class of 1940. She married Eugene J. Magsamen in Richmond, Calif., on June 1, 1946.
Mrs. Magsamen was employed by the Rocky Mountain Service Bureau until ill health forced her to retire.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene of Rock Springs; one son, George Magsamen of Cheyenne; one brother, Thomas Hornsby of Rock Springs; two sisters, Rosemary Divine of Rockland, Calif., and Doris Kettle of Rock Springs; one foster daughter, Norma Ploog of Parker, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Magsamen was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, William, Gary and Maurice.
