Bernyce Wicks, 75 of Oklee, MN died on Tuesday, September 8, 1998 at the Fosston First Care Hospital in Fosston, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 12, 1998 at 2:00 PM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Joe Richards Officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee, MN and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Bernyce Marie Wicks was born March 3, 1923 in Lambert Township, Red Lake County, MN near Oklee, MN daughter of Onezime and Permelia (Hince) Asselin, where she was raised. She attended school in Oklee graduating from the Oklee High School. Bernyce worked in various places in Oklee. On June 11, 1946 she was united in marriage to Raymond Wicks at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN. The couple lived and farmed in the Oklee area since their marriage she also worked for social services driving people to various places. Bernyce was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Church Guild; St. Ann's Society and the woodmen of the world Lodge Number 117.

She is survived by her husband Raymond of Oklee: daughter Kathleen Erickson (Lyle) of Solway, MN: sons Michael Wicks (Lorna) of Oklee, MN and Jeffrey Wicks of Fargo, ND. Grandchildren Todd, Shawn, Christopher, Danielle, Charity, Benjamin, April, Adam and Georgi Ann: great-grandchildren Brandi, Allyssa, Mikayla. Two sisters Mayme Berberich of Brooks, MN and Lucille Strande (Marvin) of Crookston, MN: sisters in law Doris Asselin of Oklee and Madonna Asselin of Milwaukee, WI: numerous nephews and nieces.

Bernyce is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Joe, Walter, Harvey and Tom: also three sisters Rose, Cora and Celene.
