WILLIAM DIEM

BACHELOR FOUND DEAD IN HOUSE
St. Nazianz Man Strangled With Tie

A 56 year old St. Nazianz bachelor, William Diem, was found strangled to death in his home yesterday afternoon. Dr. Theodore Teitgen, who with Sheriff Clarence Baryenbruch answered the call, determined the death as suicide and said Diem had been dead about a week.
Neighbors found his body in bed with a necktie around his neck which was attached to the bed post. They said they had become alarmed after not seeing any visible signs around the house, in which Diem had lived alone for a number of years, and decided to investigate. Upon doing so they immediately notified the sheriff and the coroner. Dr. Teitgen said there will be no inquest.

Survivors include a brother, Henry Diem of St. Nazianz.

The body is at the Kellenbenz funeral home in St. Nazianz where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday morning at the St. Gregory church, St. Nazianz.
