Harlan was born Apr. 4, 1935 at Thornburg, IA to John & Catherine (Capehart) McCulley. His brothers and sisters included: Vernon C., Elizabeth, Marvin J., Margaret, Donald, Robert L., William, Jean, Kenneth, David, Catherine Agnes and a brother who died in infancy. His grandparents were Henry Lewis & Mary Elizabeth (McBurney) Capehart. On Sept. 4, 1954 he married Barbara Marie Kudart in Deep River, IA. Harlan had six sons, Kenneth Harlan, Lovell James, Randall Wayne, Andrew Dean, John Thomas and Timothy Arthur. Harlan died Jan. 12, 1998.
