Pearl was the daughter of George Washington Fisher and Martha E. Fisher. She married "Willie" William Isaac Dortch on October 7, 1916 at the age of 14. She and Willie had five children, "Wash" Noah Washington Dortch of Missouri, "Blackie" Clarence Leonard Dortch of California, and three babies who died at birth. She died at the age of 21. According to her son Blackie, doctors said the cause may have been malaria.

She is buried with her husband Willie at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke, Greene, Arkansas. Their gravestone is to the immediate left of Willie's mother Irene Elizabeth Haneline Dortch.

Pearl and Willie's three babies are buried next to them in an unmarked grave according to their son Blackie and his aunt Ellen Maybelle Dortch Hatcher.
