He and Pearl had five children, "Wash" Noah Washington Dortch of Missouri, "Blackie" Clarence Leonard Dortch of California, and three babies who died at birth.
Following Pearl's death in 1924, Willie married Elsie Branch Dortch and they had a son "Dempsey" William Isaac Dortch Jr. in 1925.
Willie died of pneumonia on November 3, 1925 at the age of 29 according to his son Blackie.
He is buried with his first wife Pearl at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke, Greene, Arkansas. Their gravestone is to the immediate left of Willie's mother Irene Elizabeth Haneline Dortch.
