The following information was provided by Robert Dumont, great-grandson of Wesley and Catherine Bailey. Robert named the following children for Wesley and Catherine:

Bernice (Bailey) Davis born in 1903 was the eldest child. Bernice was the grandmother of Robert. She passed away in Long Beach, California around 1986. She is buried by the last name of Fitzgerald since she was last married to Ed Fitzgerald of Bucklin.

Noble Bailey was the second child and was born in 1906.

Harley Bailey was the third child. He was born in 1910 and lived most of his life in Linn County.

The fourth child was Delora born in 1916. She married Lloyd Simmons and they farmed in the area before moving to Kirksville. She and Lloyd are buried in the Union Temple cemetery in Kirksville.

The fifth child was Vernon who was born in 1917. He lived in Wyoming for a while and then moved to California. No more is currently known about Vernon at this time.

Wesley R. Bailey, 85, died Thursday, June 17, in the K.O.H.hospital in Kirksville where he had been a patient for one week. He had suffered a broken hip at his home at Bucklin, June 10.


Wesley Randolph, son of Jack and Mary Phillips Bailey, was born January 30, 1880 in Baker Township, New Boston. He spent his entire life in the New Boston, Ethel and Bucklin Communities.


Surviving are his wife, Katie of the home, and five children Mrs. Bernice Davis, Redondo Beach, Calif.; Noble Bailey, Brookfield; Harley Bailey, Bucklin, Mrs. Delora Simmons of Kirksville and Vernon Bailey, Casper, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Julia Wild, Bucklin.


Mr. Bailey was a member of the Bucklin Christina Church.
