Husband of Betsey Camp. The North Adams Transcript, dated July 13, 1904, states: Clark Rand, an old and highly respected resident of this city passed away this morning which took place at 9:45 o'clock at his home, 46 Summer Street. He was 88 years and four months old and his death was due to a general breaking down as the result of old age. He was taken sick last Thanksgiving day and had been totally helpless for many months, his mind being affected as well as his body. Mr. Rand was born at Paris, Maine and went with his parents to Conway when he was 10 years old. Some years later he went to Bennington, Vermont, where he lived for a number of years and over 50 years ago he came to this city, where he had since lived. He was a carpenter and worked at his trade regularly as long as his strength would permit. He was in his prime a very strong and active man, and was very industrious. He was a genial and friendly man, a good neighbor and citizen, and was esteemed by the community in which so large a share of his long life was passed. He had been a member of the Methodist church for many years. Mr. Rand is survived by two sons, Lucius C. and Henry C. Rand of this city. Until his death his family was represented by five generations and besides his sons he leaves 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at the house Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and will be private. The services will be conducted by Rev. J.A. Hamilton and the burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, North Adams, Massachusetts.
