Visitation will be today from 5 until 8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and Tuesday, February 3, 2009, from 1 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
A native of Madison, Mrs. Simpson lived in Byram for the past ten years, moving here from Utica. A homemaker whose family was her life, she was a member of the demonstration club in Utica. Mrs. Simpson was well known for her beautiful wedding cakes which she made for family and friends and was a member of the Raymond Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Wayne L. Simpson, Sr.; and siblings, Holly Adcock, Jewel Berry, Rose Blackburn, Dorothy Carpenter and George Adcock Jr.
Survivors are son, Wayne Simpson Jr. and wife, Carol of Jackson; daughter, Carmen Morrison and husband, Wade of Jackson; grandchildren, Paul (Camille) Morrison, Kathy Mike) Tullos, Norman Morrison and Shanda (Shannon) Sandridge; and eight great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Raymond Road Baptist Church.
