Major Thomas Brooke was born at Battle, England in 1638 and arrived with his father in Maryland in 1650. He was commissioned Major in 1660. He represented Calvert County in the Provincial Assembly from 1663 to 1666 and was High Sheriff of the County from 1666 to 1667. He was presiding Justice of County Court in 1667. He married Eleanor Hatton who was the daughter of Richard and Margaret Hatton. She was born in 1642 and came to Maryland with her widowed mother and family in 1649.

Mary Brooke (She married first Capt. John Bowling who died in 1693 and then married her second husband, Benjamin Hall of Prince George's County, Maryland, and he died in 1721. Third husband was Henry Witham.)

Eleanor Brooke (She married her first husband, Philip Darnall who died in 1705, he was the son of her step-father, Col. Henry Darnall; her second marriage was to William Digges.
