Alta L. Gilbert, 77, of Crozet died Monday, Sept. 10, 1990 in a Charlottesville nursing home.
She was born March 9, 1913 in Spencer, Ohio, a daughter of the late George W. and Alice S. Light. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Gilbert, in 1975 and a daughter, Mrs. Jean L. Anger, in 1982.
She was a member of Crozet Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Sanford L. (Alice) Rohrer of Wadsworth, Ohio; one granddaughter, Mrs. Doris Woolford of Crozet; four grandsons, George Gibson of Rittman, Ohio, Hiram Gibson of Grafton, Ohio, and Ray Gibson and Carl Gibson, both of Chippewa Lake, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family suggests donations be made to the Crozet Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home chapel in Crozet.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Crozet Baptist Church with interment in Rock Gate Cemetery. Dr. Roy Thomas and the Rev. David Collyer will officiate.
