He Enlisted in The Confederacy with His Brother, William Dickerson. He was a son of Thomas Dickerson, SR. and Mary McKelroy Dickerson, who later married John C. Helton.
DIXIE SAYS,: He was Wounded Twice, 1st at Crampton's Gap, Maryland Sept. 14, 1862 and in his left eye at Ocean Pond, Fl. Feb. 20, 1864. POW, Captured and Paroled at Greenville, S.C. May 24, 1865. He Enlisted Sept. 3, 1861.
