PARIS NEWS, Fri., Aug 9, 1996, p.6A. 'Virginia Ashley, 72, 625 Wilburn, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996, at her home. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Ashley was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Lone Wolf, OK, a daughter of Rufus and Mayme L. King Whiteside. She married Marvin W. 'Buddy' Ashley who preceded her in death. He owned and operated Buddy's Market on North Main St. for 25 years. Surviving are her mother Mayme Fisher of Paris; four children, Max W. Ashley of Paris, Saundra Hill of Paris, Sue McReynolds of Belton and Wanda Sims of Blossom; one sister, Katheryn Cox of Paris; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, A.B. Fisher and a sister, Athelene Salaney.
