A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Leon Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Harris Owings, she was an employee of Benson's Chrysler Dealership and a member of Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Deniece and Ricci Allen of Greer; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Shawn Armstrong and John Armstrong all of Greer; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Suzanne Owings of Springfield, MO and Grover and Jane Owings of Easley; five grandchildren, Ricci Allen, Jr., Adam Armstrong, Ann Caldwell, Marcie Chastain and Ryan Armstrong and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Armstrong was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Dot Owings.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Washington Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Joe Price. Burial will follow in Zoar United Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Sunday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Ave, Greenville, S.C. 29605.
