Mabel Boord Saunders, age 95, has been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1987. In recent years she resided at Village at Skyline following the death of her husband, George Martin Saunders, the Imperial Recorder of the Shrine Temples of North America from 1948 until retiring in 1978.

Surviving relatives include a brother, James O. Boord of Santa Rosa, CA, a step-son, Joedan Saunders of Colorado Springs, nephews Kelly J. Boord of Castle Rock, Daniel Boord of Lafayette, and nieces, Hollis B. Wright of San Rafael, CA, and Shiela Canfield-Jones of Bailey, CO.

Mrs. Saunders was a native of Missouri and requested interment to be next to her husband who pre-deceased her in 1997.

Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. No visitation or services will be held. Any person wishing to make a donation in her memory, should direct it to: The Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Sacramento, California.

Mabel, though a conservative and private individual, should be remembered as one of great generosity and unquestionable patriotism. She believed in her country and loyalty to our government was never questioned.
