Funeral services for Mrs. Evie Lee Hayes Alexander Reed will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:00 am in Webb Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Aucion officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Reed, age 86, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Queen City Nursing Home. She was a member of Glad Tidings Pentecostal Holiness Church for 57 years. She was a piano player for the Singing Strings, playing for nursing homes and church and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her sons: Bobby G. Alexander and wife, Fay of McCool, MS and Roy W. Alexander and wife, Jeralene of Meridian; sister-in-law, Margaret T. Hayes of Meridian; four grandchildren: Michael E. Alexander, Ronald W. Alexander, Dawn Black, Barry Lackey; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Sidney W. Alexander; second husband, Clarence Reed; son, Walter Alexander; brothers: Alvin Hayes, Woody Hayes and sister, Dorothy Elms.
Pallbearers will be Mike Alexander, Michael L. Alexander, Mike Elwood, Ronny Alexander, Barry Lackey and Dewitt Singleton. Honorary pallbearer will be Lynn Latham.
Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
