Josephine Guadalupe (Tude) Doffing was born December 23, 1911 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. On March 17 1942 she volunteered for the U.S. Army Nurse Corps, and served through WWII as a Lieutenant under General Stillwell on the Burma-Indochina frontier. She returned to civilian life on December 1945 and returned to Hidalgo County, Texas, where most of her family lived.
