City record from sexton says Susan A. (sic) Rutherford died age 60 and buried July 10, 1881 in the Old Cemetery section, sexton Abraham Odom (Inscription on grave marker says age 71, which agrees better with date of her marriage.)

Susan R. (sic) Thweatt married June 22, 1830 in Baldwin County, GA, to Adolphus S. Rutherford.

Columbus Daily Enquirer for Tuesday, July 12, 1881, page 4 says Funeral of Mrs. Rutherford. The funeral of Mrs. Susan Rutherford took place from St. Paul (Methodist) church Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Rev. W. C. Lovett, the pastor, conducted the services, and spoke of the deceased as a woman of many noble and generous traits of character and as a christian lady. The following gentlemen acted as pall bearers: Messrs. A. M. Allen, Perry Spencer, A. C. Flewellen, Amory Dexter, J. S. Garrett and A. M. Brannon. The remains were followed to the cemetery by many friends.
