Graveside services for Mildred Irene Whittington Schlueter Reed, 91, of Odessa will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Garden of Memories with Michael Schlueter officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Reed died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Waveland, Ark. She married Herbert Schlueter in 1939 in Roby. She was married to J.V. Reed in 1974 in Odessa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Odessa.
Survivors include one son, Michael Schlueter and wife Barbara; two granddaughters, Melissa Schlueter and Meagan Skelton and husband Michael; three great-granddaughters, Shelby Schlueter, Gabriella Skelton, and Agatha Skelton; and one great-grandson, Oliver Skelton; one brother, Harold Whittington and wife Nilwon; nephews, Johnny Mac, Ralph and Eric Whittington; daughter-in-law, Jackie Schlueter; and Beverly and Vance Lane and Chance and John Passmore.
She was preceded in death her parents, Arden and Floy Whittington; her husbands, Herbert Schlueter and J.V. Reed; two brothers, Otto Whittington and Bill Whittington and one nephew, Jeff Whittington.
