She was the daughter of Albert and Mary Thormyer. She came to Cassville, WI to live with her sister from Louisville, KY in 1861 after her mother's death ca. 1858-9. Her father, at age 53, entered the Civil War as a Union Soldier for the Kentucky line. She married Aloys Grimm 25 Oct 1865 and they had seven children. She was kind and lovable and was missed by many in Cassville.
