Eleanor was the daughter of Henry VanHorn. She married Edward Lanning while living in NY state. They moved to many different counties in NY finally settling in Steuben Co. Then between 1840 and 45 they removed to Wayne Co MI where they both died.
They had 6 known children, five sons, John, Martin, Richard, William, Robert Conrad and a daughter, Martha Ann. Son Robert Conrad Lanning became a very well known minister in MI.
