Born, October 21, 1988 in Chambersburg, PA he is the son of James A. and Laura (Schmelder) Byers of Greencastle, PA.
He was employed at Cimbrian of Lancaster, PA as a computer networker. He is a 2006 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim High School and he received his associate's degree from YTI in York, PA.
He attended Lifegate Ministries of Fairview, PA and formerly attended Five Forks Brethren In Christ Church, Waynesboro, PA.
Nathan enjoyed life, loved computers and music, especially playing worship music with his bass guitar and drums. He enjoyed watching Anime (Japanese cartoons). Nathan loved being barefoot and was given the nickname "feet" by his friends. He was a big teddy bear who loved God and people. Everyone who knew him loved him in return. Nathan was a light to the world and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving family in addition to his parents are, one brother, Andrew Byers and one sister, Abigail Byers both of Greencastle, PA. Maternal Grandparents, Richard and Gail Schmelder of Greencastle, PA. Paternal Grandfather, Adam Byers of Greencastle, PA. Six Aunts, Five Uncles, and Eleven Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandmother, Elizabeth Byers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from the Five Forks Brethren In Christ Church, 9244 Five Forks Rd., Waynesboro, PA with Rev. Wilber "Buck" Besecker officiating. Burial will be in the Antrim Church Cemetery, Greencastle, PA.
