Miss Addie Maxwell, 61, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington on July 20, 1963 after being struck by a car on South Main Street. Miss Maxwell had just left the home of a friend, Mrs. Leonora Crago, and in crossing the street stepped into the path of a car driven by Earl Shaffer.
She was born January 4, 1902 in Farmer City, a d/o Joseph and Carrie Hutchison Maxwell. She never married. Surviving is a brother, Emmett of LeRoy. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at Stensel's Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Harrold officiating; burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers were Charles Bosserman, Harry Hoit, Robert Tharp, Claude Walker, Warren Burnett and Clifford Schmall. Flower bearers were Mrs. Virginia Beasley, Mrs. Bly Sparrow, Mrs. Harry Hoit, Mrs. Frank Moore, Mrs. Robert Tharp and Miss Ruth Bosserman.
