Suffering a sudden stroke of apoplexy while a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Cotton, 625 Seventeenth Street, Mrs. Edith Elizabeth Armstrong, 47, died suddenly last night. She succumbed a few minutes after she slumped in her chair and before a hurriedly summoned physician could administer aid.
Mrs. Armstrong came to his city Monday to visit with her sister, Mrs. George Rothermel, and the two sisters had gone to the Cotton home to spend the evening.
Harry L. Armstrong, the husband, is a foreman in the Nickle Plate Railroad shops in Fort Wayne. The family resides at 902 Northwood Boulevard.
The Armstrongs resided in this city until three years ago.
Surviving are the husband, Harry, two daughters, Mary Margaret and Betty Jean, all of Fort Wayne, two sisters, Mrs. George Rothermel, 614 Twentieth Street, and Mrs. J. B. Jones of Onward, and three brothers, Charles and Ted Sullivan of Monticello, and Joseph of Anderson.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.
While residents of this city the Armstrongs resided on Spear Street above Sixteenth Street.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Vincent Catholic Church, this city, at 9 o'clock Monday morning, Father Leo DuFrane in charge. Burial will be made in the St. Vincent Cemetery.
The body is at the home of the sister, Mrs. George Rothermel.
