Visitation and Services: Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 8, 2009 from Stonebridge Church of God with Reverend Floyd Ingram and Reverend Robbie Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Bell's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Sunday. The family will receive friends at the home of Debbie and Mark Withrow, 93 Judy Court in Midland City from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Saturday.
Obituary: Mrs. Mary Hughes Bell, age 84, of Ozark, died Friday morning, March 6, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, March 8, 2009 from Stonebridge Church of God with Reverend Floyd Ingram and Reverend Robbie Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Bell's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Sunday. The family will receive friends at the home of Debbie and Mark Withrow, 93 Judy Court in Midland City from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Saturday. Mrs. Bell was born August 6, 1924 in Dale County to the late Maston and Carrie Elizabeth Horne Hughes. She was a homemaker and was employed with Golden Peanut Company in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Marvin "Hooks" Bell, two sons, Jimmy Ladon Bell and Marvin Edward Bell, one grandson, Robert Lee Price, and one great grandson, Wyatt Price. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Nell and Gerald Tharpe of Ozark, Susie Price and friend Michael Lee of Ozark, Debbie and Mark Withrow of Midland City, and Machelle and Marc Gendron of Daleville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerald Bell, Jerry and Gloria Bell all of Ozark. Eighteen grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren also survive.
