Funeral services for Harry C. Rounds, 81, Lehigh, were held Saturday, Sept 3, 1994. Rev. Rudy DeRosa conducted the 10:00 a.m. service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dayton. Interment was held in Westlawn Cemetery, Lehigh with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5720, Lehigh. Arrangements were made by Carson Funeral home, Dayton.

Mr Rounds passed away Monday, August 29 at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

During the service the congregation sang, "Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." Richard Will sang, "In Garden." Organist was Dora Hendrickson. Honorary bearers were Joe Ruthart, Bill Murray, Mick Heslop, Russ West and Lee Trask. Bearers were Larry Herrick, Bennie Andrews, Gene Herrick, Jimmy Andrews, Ron Grossnickle and Danny Grossnickle.

Harry C. Rounds was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1913 south of Lehigh. He was the son of William R and Gertrude (Rounds) Rounds. Harry attended school at Lehigh and Dayton.

On Tuesday, July 16, 1940 Harry was united in marriage to Amanda C. Andrews at Bethany Mo. Harry worked at Lehigh Sewer Pipe and Tile Co for several years. The couple moved to Sioux City where he worked for a short time for Boots and Olson Construction. They moved back to Lehigh in 1947 and farmed in the McGuire Bend area until moving to Lehigh in 1976. Harry retired from Dickey Clay in 1978.

Harry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dayton; Lehigh Historical Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5720 and American Legion, Lehigh. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda; daughter, Robert and LaVona Kay Timmons, Dubuque; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter and brother, William R. Rounds, Casa Grande, Az.
