James, husband of Sarah (Arterburn) Tatman and son of Nehemiah and Nancy (Vincent) Tatman.

Oibituary "The Quincy Daily Journal", Tuesday, 28 January 1890:
"James Tatman died this morning at his late residence, 1024 Vermont street. His ailment was bronchitis, and he was only confined to his bed five days. He was 72 years of age. Deceased was an old resident of Quincy, and was highly respected by his large circle of acquaintances.
He was born in Kentucky, but came to Illinois several years ago. He first settled in Ursa, afterward taking up his home in this city. His wife died about a year ago. His remains are being prepared for shipment, and will be sent to Ursa, his former home, tomorrow morning. The funeral will occur in the afternoon."
